GRIT to me, is many things, but if I had to choose one word it would be:
Commitment. Commitment to your teammates, commitment to your goals and most importantly, commitment to yourself. Without commitment to yourself you have nothing. And that’s what GRIT does. It pushes you to continue on.
With GRIT, quitting is not an option.
And once you learn to believe in yourself, the results are remarkable.
I’ve experienced change in all 4 life quadrants since going through the monthly GRIT challenges.
This is an easy one to quantify and of course the most noticeable to anyone visually. I’ve gone from 30% Body Fat to hovering around the 20% mark.
My muscles are more pronounced. I’m stronger. My postures better. And I even have the start of abs coming in at the sides of my stomach. For someone that’s lived most of my life with a pot belly lol that’s pretty fucking exciting.
Not as apparent to the onlooker but the results are just as pronounced.
GRITs given me a purpose every day. No matter what I do, I know that I’ve at least built a body asset toward the 1 % journey. Even if my day wasn’t as productive as I would have liked, I still get my ass up and do something.
The funny thing about that is, once I get my workout in, I feel good and it leads me to being more productive. It’s like a secret “stacker” pill that fills you with motivation to do more and more.
Before GRIT, it was easy to get in a rut and hard to get out of it. Now, I let it guide me towards productivity. At first, the daily writing assignments can feel daunting and even stressful.
Some days, words will flow like water and you’ll write long epics, other days it won’t come as easy. But I find that the writing assignments are just as important as they force you to self reflect on your daily journey and help you build the most important muscle of all: Your brain.
As a Real Estate agent who also does side jobs to supplement my income, I need all the help I can get to push through the day. While you’d think these daily workouts and writings would drain your energy they actually do the exact opposite. I never have better energy or more ideas flowing through me then when I’m coming down from a workout. GRIT can amplify your thoughts and perspective in a myriad of ways.
On the surface, It may not seem like it, but this is probably the most important asset of all. Nothing can kill your motivation or zest for life quicker than relationship issues. With GRIT being a mood enhancer, it’ll only benefit those closest to you as no one likes to hang around an “eeyore,” lol.
I’ve noticed, my mood is infinitely better since making workouts part of my daily routine. Even better...my girlfriend does them with me! As the saying (that I just made up) goes: "Those who workout out together, stay together." Working towards a better life with a loved one, makes the journey much more enjoyable.
All in all, GRIT has amplified my life in numerous ways. It’s a pathway to success and a blueprint to a better life. You just gotta get started. One foot in front of the other. Nothing worth having comes easy, but if you push through the pain, I promise you won’t regret it.
I know I don’t.
